A tutor who genuinely understands the student experience
Full Stack Impact Award 2025 winner and graduated top of class among 200+ students, IIE Higher Certificate in Mobile Application and Web Development at Emeris Education (formerly Varsity College)
Hi, I’m Jorryn Panjasuran, a second-year IIE Bachelor of Computer and Information Sciences (Application Development) student, President of Emeris Voice, and a dedicated academic tutor based at Emeris Durban North.
I started this degree with no coding experience at all. Everything I teach, I once had to learn from zero, which is exactly why I know how to explain it to someone sitting where I was.
I know what it feels like to sit in a lecture and feel completely lost. I know the pressure of deadlines, the anxiety before exams, and the frustration when things just don’t click. That’s exactly why I tutor the way I do: with patience, structure, and genuine care for each student’s progress.
My approach isn’t one-size-fits-all. I take the time to understand how you learn, where you’re getting stuck, and what you actually need to move forward. Then I build sessions around that.
Awarded the Faculty of Science and Technology Excellence Award at the Emeris Durban North Student Top Achiever Awards, which recognised 98 undergraduate and postgraduate students for academic excellence and contribution to campus life.

A decision made at an Open Day
He entered the programme with no prior coding experience. The turning point was a Faculty of Science and Technology presentation at an Emeris Durban North Open Day, attended while still in Grade 12.

Your turn
The same approach that got him here is the one he brings to every session.
Alongside tutoring, I design and build websites for people running a business:
the kind of site that makes a stranger trust you before you have said a word to them.
Most small businesses are not invisible because they are bad.
They are invisible because nobody built them a front door.
01 · Entirely yours
A business card gets lost. A social media page belongs to somebody else and changes its
rules whenever it feels like it. A website is the one place on the internet that is
entirely yours: open at 2am, working while you sleep, and saying
exactly what you want it to say.
02 · Built to sell
I build advertising websites: sites whose whole job is to sell what you do.
A landing page for a single service. A full site for a growing business. A portfolio for
your work. A booking page that turns a curious visitor into an actual enquiry in your inbox.
03 · From scratch
Everything is built from scratch: no bloated template you have to fight, no monthly
fee for a page builder you never wanted. It is fast, works properly on a phone,
and it is written so that Google can actually find you.
What I studied to be able to do this
07 modules
01
Web Development
HTML, CSS and JavaScript from the ground up: layout, responsive design, and getting a site live and stable.
02
Human–Computer Interaction
How real people read a page, where their eyes go first, and why a confusing button quietly costs you customers.
03
Systems Analysis and Design
Sitting with a client, pulling out what they actually need, and mapping it before a single line gets written.
04
Database Development
Data modelling and SQL, so a site can hold bookings, enquiries, products or members without falling over.
05
Programming in Python and Java
Logic, structure and clean code, which is the difference between a site that lasts and one that breaks in a year.
06
Mobile Application Development
React Native and mobile-first thinking, because most of your visitors will arrive on a phone, not a laptop.
07
Information Systems
How a business actually runs day to day, so the site fits the business instead of the business bending around the site.
I studied all of it. But you cannot study taste.
A degree teaches you how to make a website work. It does not teach you the feel of a thing:
the right spacing, the colour that suits a bakery and not a law firm, the moment a
page stops looking cheap and starts looking expensive. That part is instinct, and it is the
part I happen to have. So I will not hand you a technically correct site that looks like
everybody else’s. I will sit with you, learn how you want your business to feel, and
build until it feels like that: a site you are genuinely proud to send people to.
There are plenty of tutors. Here’s why students choose to work with me.
01
Genuinely personalised
Sessions are built around you, your gaps, your goals, your pace. No generic explanations recycled from session to session.
02
Crystal clear explanations
I don’t just repeat what’s in the notes. I find new angles and new analogies until it actually makes sense.
03
Structured and purposeful
Every session has direction. We know what we’re covering, why we’re covering it, and how it connects to your goals.
04
Infinitely patient
No question is too basic. No topic is too confusing. I will sit with you until the penny drops.
05
A relatable mentor
I’m a student too. I understand the pressures you face and know what it actually takes to succeed.
06
Premium quality, accessible
Professional, high-standard support that doesn’t feel out of reach. You deserve the best academic help available.

I was genuinely lost in my first semester, falling behind and too embarrassed to ask for help in class. Jorryn made everything feel manageable. The sessions were calm, structured, and I finally understood what I was supposed to be learning. My grade improved significantly in two weeks.

Coming into the Higher Certificate with zero coding background was terrifying. Jorryn broke down the logic in a way that finally made sense to me, and never once made me feel stupid for asking. By the second term I was the one explaining concepts to my group. That shift in confidence was worth every session.

The notes Jorryn put together for me before my exam were unlike anything I’d seen. Clear, structured, and actually useful, not just a copy of the slides. I walked into that exam feeling prepared for the first time all semester. Genuinely grateful.

Both options are available depending on your location and preference. Online sessions are conducted via video call with screen sharing. In-person sessions can be arranged for students in the Durban area. We’ll figure out what works best for you when we chat.
Sessions are typically 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the topic and what we’re covering. For intensive exam prep sessions, we may go longer. Everything is discussed upfront so there are no surprises.
It’s never too late. I’ve helped students who felt completely lost turn things around before finals. The earlier you reach out, the more we can do together, but even a single focused session can make a meaningful difference.
Yes. Study notes, concept breakdowns, and summaries can be prepared as standalone resources. Reach out and let me know exactly what you need and we’ll work something out.
Rates vary depending on the service, frequency, and duration. Get in touch for a personalised quote. I aim to make quality support accessible, and I’m always happy to discuss what works within your situation.
